HOT NEWS – Kaper
II, Inc., Acquires
Goniophotometer
To ensure and to
continue to offer the
highest quality and
compliant automotive
lighting possible; Kaper
II, Inc. announces its’
new purchase of a Type A
Goniophotometer.
Installation was
completed in January and
will be operational in
February of 2013.
For those of you who are
new to testing equipment
a
Goniophotometer
is defined as:
A device used for
measurement of the light
emitted from an object
at different angles. The
use of Goniophotometer
has been increasing in
recent years with the
introduction of
LED-light sources, which
are mostly directed
light sources, where the
spatial distribution of
light is not
homogeneous. Due to
strict regulations, the
spatial distribution of
light is of high
importance to automotive
lighting and its design.
Our new system will
produce reports showing
compliancy with the
Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard 108
(FMVSS). After
independent
qualification, Kaper II
light products will
continue to undergo
random and scheduled
in-house testing to
assure ongoing
consistency, quality and
standards compliance.
